Error By Emphasis
I realize it is true that all professing Christians have faith, and those who practice an objective and outward prayer also fit this illustration. But the faith of those (born-again believers) who journey by the inward way is very different. Their’s is a living faith. It is without images. It is effectual and enlightened. . . to the extent—that is—that the Holy Spirit enlightens the spirit within us. And a man’s spirit is stronger when his mind has been collected toward his God.
1 Pe 1:5, 7
who are kept by the power of God through faith …
that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire…
We have seen that in the ministry of an apostle that the emphasis needs to be on the inward foundation of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. This is more than mere lip service. Rather it needs to be the extensive foundation as taught by Molinos and Guyon. False apostles focus on structure and governments – excellent networkers – yet lack the devotional depth to Jesus Christ Himself. The tree is known by its fruit.
In the same way, when it comes to faith, one’s heart is all important. Will you gravitate to materialism and things or to faith in Jesus Christ Himself? Will you emphasise Romans 10 with believing and confessing and “things” in the Heb 11:1 definition of faith and ignore the rest of the Word of God?
The Bridegroom – is He all-important or will the spirit of Laodicea grip you?
