Rock-Solid Orthodox Christianity

In the teaching on this web site, you will notice that we have pulled something out of the rubbish bin, something which has been discarded and thrown away by the greater body of Christ - yes, including most of the charismatic church today. The sovereignty of God.

Today, satan's role is emphasised when things happen such as acts of God. However, no longer does the greater body of Christ recognize that the Lord is sovereign and that we need to receive all things as from the hand of God, essential if we are to learn to fully surrender to our Lord Jesus in all things and at all times.

This is bringing back to the fore a new wave of Calvinism which was central to the Reformation which took place hundreds of years ago and revolutionized the church in the days of Martin Luther and John Calvin.

I bly believe that the same truth of the Reformation in the past is central to the current Reformation that is taking place in the church today. Much of what led to and fuelled the Reformation of the past is appearing today.

The truth that I bring today is a revelation concerning the In Name of Jesus. It is putting this truth in context of the classical Christian foundation which includes the sovereignty of God which has been reclaimed from the church's rubbish bin.

The precious Name of Jesus is important to us believers in prayer, deliverance, healing, and many other areas. Although, when we are born again we covenantally have the right to use the Name of Jesus, the fullness of using His Name effectively comes at a later stage in the Christian journey - the end stage or the resurrection stage. Why is this? It is because here our self life has died and our wills become fully entwined and one with His will and here we use the Name of Jesus with the authority and the backing of heaven consistently.

The foundation text is Philippians 2:10.

that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of those in heaven, and of those on earth,
and of those under the earth,...

We see Apostle Paul saying to the Philippians, "He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." We see in chapter 2 the importance of having the mind of Christ in receiving His sovereign cross. This is what I sometimes call the Great Death in the middle stage of the Christian journey. It is a long tough stage where the Lord strips us of all things through a sovereign severe cross.

Not only has God highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name (verse 9) after enduring the cross, we, too, according to Apostle Paul - (implied), can only use that name with authority once we have been through the tough middle stage of Classical Christianity. Here it is death of our self life which is important as anything done in the flesh is ineffective and does not have heaven's backing.

Remember the sons of Sceva. The evil spirit answered and said, 'Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?' (Acts 19:15). There seems to be a place in God (end stage of classical Christianity) where demons immediately recognise and fear you.

The disciples could not cast out a demon. Jesus told them that this demon comes out only with prayer and fasting. What was He saying? There is a place in God in which one has great authority but the disciples were not there yet. Prayer and fasting (from everything other than Him) is deeply established in one who is in this place in God.

Another way to look at it is to consider the difference between the Hebrew betrothal (much ber than engagement in western culture) and the fullness of marriage. When we are born again, we are betrothed to our Lord Jesus. However, the fullness of marriage or union with God only occurs much later if we allow the Lord to take us through the tough middle stage of the Classical Christian journey, stripping us of all things and bring us to fully surrender to Him in all things and at all times.

Only here can we truly use His name with authority. Even in our Western culture, when a woman marries she takes on her husbands name. Only in this place does she take on his authority in its fullness.

The wedding procession (not betrothal) is seen here:

Song of Solomon 3: 6-8

Who is this coming out of the
wilderness
Like pillars of smoke,
Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense,
With all the merchant's fragrant
powders?
Behold, it is Solomon's couch,
With sixty valiant men around it,
Of the valiant of Israel.
They all hold swords,
Being expert in war.
Every man has his sword on his thigh
Because of fear in the night.

To the measure that we are surrendered to His authority, do we possess spiritual authority to use His name.

I am free to run....
I am free to dance....
I am free to live for You....
I will shout louder ....
I will jump higher....
I am free...
I am free.

Being desperate for God. Getting excited for God. Hype. A false unity. Often there is the fleecing of the flock of their money. Making giving a principle. A law of the kingdom. Promises of reaping a earthly return. If Kenneth Copeland is esteemed highly, beware! Always in sheeps clothing. Using the Word of God. However, if we look closer the things that they are saying are not in the Word of God. There is a mixture.

Sometimes, as in the Lakeland and Toronto movements, we see and hear even more strange things which contradict or stretch the truth of the Bible. Many gloss over these things. After all, the works of God are being done. The power of God is being manifest. Surely this must be of God. Not necessarily. Is it then all of satan? No. There is a mixture. Some of the miracles are genuine. Sometimes it begins in God and then changes. God is so sovereign. However, God allows this mixture to sift His people in these last days.

The foundation is what is important. More important than miracles and the power of God. If the foundation is not there, flee from it. Deception will take you on the highway to hell. There are many on that broad highway. Beware. There is nothing more dangerous than deception in this last hour. Beware.

21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

The New King James Version. 1982 (Mt 7:21–23). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

Unfortunately, almost all the revival movements coming from the Charismatic movement of late have had this character. They have taken the short-cut. Remember the second temptation that Jesus overcame in the wilderness. Instead of taking the long, hard road of the wilderness, they have taken the easy short-cut. What you see is the fruit of such a short-cut. It is bad fruit. Is it not amazing that not one of the revival moves or waves coming from the Charismatic movement of late have been sound. Not one. This speaks to me that there is something seriously wrong with the foundation of the entire movement. That is why I emphasise the importance of the classical Christian foundation.
