Ezekiel 13:13-14
Therefore thus says the Lord God: "I will cause a stormy wind [the latter rain] to break forth in My fury; and there shall be a flooding rain in My anger, and great hailstones in fury to consume it.
So I will break down the wall you have plastered (whitewashed) with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will will be uncovered; it will fall and you will be consumed in the midst of it. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
Matthew 5 - 7 : 'Sermon on the Mount'
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and
thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted
for righteousness' sake
,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

[true Christian character]

... Now everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain [latter rain] descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall...

Acts 23:3a Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, you whitewashed wall!"

The prophetic situation that Ezekiel faced is important. We see the spiritual leaders of Israel sitting before the prophet*. They are enquiring concerning some religious matter. The Lord shows Ezekiel the true spiritual condition of their hearts. He shows Ezekiel the idolatry, worldliness that has crept into the church. This is why the glory of the Lord departed from the temple and why judgment was coming. He was shown the whitewashed wall which was going to fall in the coming storm. The foundation would be exposed.

Today, the same thing has occurred with the shift from the charismatic movement to the end-time move. I, myself, received a revelation from the Lord in 1991-1992, 'Living Laodicea - a revelation of the last move', which was similar to Ezekiel's revelation.

Most Christians struggle to see this and to understand what has happened. Many still follow the popular preachers and see nothing. Are we not blind? Is there no revelation amongst the people of God? The foundation that has been established is not the true foundation. The true wilderness foundation manifests in true Christian character as revealed in the Beattitudes.

Some, in the past, have pointed out false doctrine which borders on heresy coming from leaders of the word-faith movement. However, it is not enough to uncover some of the whitewash. The foundation needs to be exposed. The true foundation then needs to be restored and rebuilt.

The gospel presented by the charismatic movement influenced by the Word-faith teaching, is a mask. It is a shallow thing. It does not produce a deep work in our lives. Is is merely whitewash. It does change us yet not truly. Effectively, this whitewash is a distraction. It keeps the people of God from the true foundation. The key of knowledge has been lost and not only will the preachers not enter in but they keep the people of God from entering in.

For example, we are taught that we must change our thinking and that we must always be positive. This veneer of Christianity is flaky. Instead of growing closer to Jesus Christ as clearly shown by Jeanne Guyon in 'Experiencing the depths of Jesus Christ' and changing as a natural fruit of His work in our hearts, we are trying to change ourselves and this is on the surface - the soul is dealt with and not the spirit. Yes, we try to justify this teaching from the Scriptures. But is it really biblical? Let us step back and look at it soberly and in context.

I see that as the latter rain becomes heavier - after the Toronto and Prophetic movements - the deepening storm with thunder, lightning and hail - the whitewash will be completely removed and the foundations uncovered. The wall will come down completely. This is ahead and is at the doors.

Whitewash is covering almost every teaching in the Charismatic world. I have been through Bible School and have seen the whitewash through most of the teachings. Only those who are close to Jesus and are people of prayer will see the truth in these end-times.

It has been said that the church in Africa is two miles wide but an inch deep. Is that not also true of the present-day charismatic movement?

Truly, the foundation shifts back to Jesus Christ as being central and to our personal walk with Him. The Ezekiel 13 foundation is justified by many but there is coming a day - soon - when its foundation will be fully uncovered!

NOTE: Just as the religious people took one aspect of our Lord's coming - as a conquering King - and rejected His role as the suffering Servant, so too, many today accept the 'end-time revival' but reject the 'end-time deception' that has brought the church into Living Laodicea. Some vice versa. Both are true. The true prophetic word will include both aspects of the truth. The coming Tsunami not only brings life to the church but judgment and destruction to the teachings of many.

* NOTE: The tone that God uses to answer the spiritual leaders is one of judgment, law and passing of a legal sentence.

1. Observe the blindness of the spiritual leaders who came to Ezekiel. They were in exile as a consequence of idolatry and had still not turned from the idols!

2. The ignorance of prayer is exposed. The leaders had a question which required an answer from God. Does God answer prayer? The answer given by Ezekiel was not what they expected - they were answered according to the idols of their hearts. They probably came for a word of comfort. Instead they received a sentence of death.

3. Prophet's danger: declare the word of God. Don't shy from confrontation and don't avoid unpleasantness. There is a misplaced sense of compassion within us that would make us to prefer to say the comforting words, rather than declare the truth.
